I also happen to find a few links, including one from this forum, where another guy had the exact same issue and used that driver and it was the only one that worked. Are you a Gateway Computer and Internet Expert? I hope this information helps.

Hello, I have no sound because I have no multimedia audio controller ; but so far, whenever I’ve downloaded the device and drivers, or the drivers after first installing the device, I get the blue page aborting the installation and dumping physical memory and I have to do a hard reboot.
